Emily | Bridal | Mount Hope Plantation House | Baton Rouge, La.

Emily's wedding dress is seriously what my dreams are made of.

I've always been a fan of wedding dresses with a full and "flowy" skirt.  I love wedding dresses that aren't white.  And basically, I always love things that are a little different from the norm...  So I freaked out when I arrived and saw Emily in this dress!  I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped!

Not only was I obsessed with the bridal look Emily chose for herself, but that combined with her personality just made this one of my favorite bridal shoots ever!  This girl is such a sweetheart, and she radiates joy and grace.  Inner and outer beauty combined.  What more could a photographer want?

Emily and Nicholas were married on November 19th at this same venue...  I cannot WAIT to show off those wedding day photos!  Their day looked and felt like a fairytale!

Here are my favorite shots of Emily.  Soak in the beauty!

Jessica + Robert | Engagement | Mandeville, La.

These two literally couldn’t stop smiling during the beginning of their engagement session…  That’s when I knew we were going to have an amazing afternoon.  Jessica and Robert are so obviously in love with each other, and that makes my job extra fun.  :)

When Jessica and I first started planning out our shoot, she mentioned to me that they love the water / the beach…  She had this vision of them being in the water for some of the photos, but she wasn’t sure if it was a crazy idea or not.  To that I said, that’s the BEST kind of crazy!  I knew then and there that we were a perfect client-photographer match because they seemed adventurous and down for anything to get some cool photos… And that is right up my alley!

So towards the end of our shoot, just as the sun was setting, all three of us waded into Lake Pontchartrain.  And magic happened.  These photos are some of my favorites now, because of the tones in the light and the water as well as the love between the couple.  It’s just all so good!!!  I do wish there was another person there who could have snapped a photo of me as I was shooting these, because I imagine it looked interesting!  Picture me up to my chest in the lake (my camera held high in the air) wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt!  It was exhilarating and challenging, and I loved every minute of it!

Can’t wait to see what the wedding day will be like with these two!  I can’t wait to take more photos of them!

Blair | Bridal | New Orleans, La.

My shoot with Blair wins the award of most challenging bridal session to date!  That might sound bad, but let me explain...

We knew going into this day that it would be hot (this was the last weekend in July), but nothing prepared us for exactly how HOT it was going to be outside while shooting!   It felt like 110 degrees, and there was not a cloud in the sky, making it feel like we were in an oven!  I'm pretty sure this is the most I've EVER sweated while shooting.  (and that's saying a lot, because I'm always kinda sweaty haha!)  I'm so glad I don't know what I looked like while taking these photos!  Having limited shade available also made my job at finding flattering light for my bride extra difficult.

Blair forgot her bouquet at the hair salon.  Her mom had trouble finding us at our first location.  It started pouring down rain as we got to our second location.  Blair's shoe ended up breaking.  Many obstacles, y'all!

I'm only telling you all of this to say...  None of our struggles kept Blair from smiling and radiating beauty and joy!  I love looking back at these, because you'd never know things weren't going as perfectly as planned!  Her attitude was amazing, and we laughed the whole time!  This girl is a gem.  I'm so happy I got to take these photos for her.

New Orleans City Park Botanical Gardens was our first location.  The second location we used was actually the New Orleans criminal justice court house!  How cool, right?!  Blair had some connections, and we were able to take some photos there.  I'm obsessed with how those turned out!

So here are my favorite shots of Blair in that gorgeous wedding dress of hers..

Sophisticated Woman Wedding Magazine | Styled Shoot | Bridesmaid Fashion

Last month, I had the wonderful opportunity of working on a fun styled shoot displaying different styles of bridesmaid fashion for Sophisticated Woman Wedding Magazine!  Sophisticated Woman is a publication on the Northshore, and they produce an annual wedding magazine.  It's an honor to be a part of it and especially to be featured in an editorial spread!  These types of photos are right up my alley!

Two of the models for the shoot are fashion bloggers who I work with frequently, so this shoot was fun and effortless!  Pretty models in combination with a wonderful team of ladies / vendors made for some beautiful photos.  :)  I'm particularly fond of the flower crowns with the navy dresses!  Bohemian chic!  Yes yes yes.

You can find a copy of the magazine at various locations on the Northshore!  But if you can't see it in print, here are my personal favorites from the shoot.

Jamie + Nick | Wedding | Lake Charles, La.

I honestly loved every minute of this wedding day.  Zero stress.  Zero drama.  Just a bunch of happy people, and a bride and groom who are so obviously in love and couldn't wait to marry each other.  The ceremony was an emotional one.  And then they partied and danced their night away with their friends and family.  (and I mean they really danced and partied!)  It was really so much fun to watch and be a part of!  Not to mention everything was beautiful and so much fun for me to photograph.  I loved Nick's blue suit, and I loved all the gold accents throughout the decor from Jamie's bridesmaids to tablecloths at the reception.  I loved it all!!!

Jamie and Nick were married in Lake Charles at St. Martin de Porres, and their reception was held at the Historic Cash and Carry Building.

Here are my favorite shots from their big day in July!  Lots of favorites!  :)
